The nearest beaches are only a few minutes drive at Lantic Bay and Lansallos. Alternatively you can cross the ferry and go to Polkerris or Carlyon Bay depending on what sort of beach you prefer. To see more information about local beaches, see our beach guide. Many of Cornwall's fine gardens, houses and attractions are easily reached from Bodinnick, if you would like to find out more about them and where they are visit our links page. From Bodinnick, the famous Hall Walk leads around the wooded hillside to Pont Creek and on to the village of Polruan. This is a splendid circular walk to take in all of the beautiful harbour scenery. From Polruan you take the passenger ferry to Fowey and can then stroll along through the town returning to Bodinnick on the ferry. Full details are contained in Bob Acton's book of 12 walks "Around the River Fowey" which is available from us priced £4.50. Dame Daphne du Maurier lived in the village at "Ferryside" for many years and it was in this area that she found inspiration for her first book. On the Hall Walk you will also see the monument to Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch who wrote "The Astonishing History of Troy Town" based on this area.
