Chapel Mead - PolruanChapel Mead is a stunning and spacious property with breathtaking views and a south-westerly aspect. Only a handful of houses in Cornwall can offer such spectacular views of both the sea and Fowey River. The house itself is spacious and well appointed and all the main rooms have been carefully designed to maximise the enjoyment of this special location. It is bright and airy due to its large windows and, whilst it is in the village, it maintains a sense of peace and seclusion. Downstairs the concertina doors open onto a wide covered veranda which leads onto the large garden and the uninterrupted views out to sea.

Upstairs are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The Master bedroom (21' x 13') has dual aspect views of both the sea and the harbour. There is a King size double bed, armchairs and an en-suite bathroom with toilet, washbasin and a roll-top bath with sea views. The second large bedroom (22' x 13') also has the superb dual aspect views, a King size bed, a large desk, settee and an armchair. The third bedroom has a small double bed arranged as the bottom bunk with a single bunk above and it provides good views over the harbour. These two bedrooms are served by a family bathroom with bath, toilet and washbasin.

Downstairs is the fourth bedroom with two single beds. On this floor there is also a shower room with toilet and washbasin. The large kitchen is well equipped and has lovely views over the mouth of the river. There is a large extending oak table, two Belfast sinks, a large gas range cooker with twin ovens, a dishwasher and microwave and a door which leads into the garden. Off the kitchen is a large pantry with ample storage space, a high chair and a large fridge-freezer. The rest of the downstairs living space includes a large drawing room (22' x 13') with a range of comfortable seating, large flat screen television, DVD and French doors giving views out to sea. There is another dual aspect sitting room (22' x 17') which has a large wood-burning stove, stereo and a beautiful oak spiral staircase leading upstairs to the landing which has seating overlooking the garden and the sea. Both living rooms have wide concertina doors that give immediate access to the veranda.

Chapel MeadOutside the veranda provides a wide covered area and benefits from a south westerly aspect from which to admire the view and the late afternoon sun making it ideal for drinks and al-fresco dining. The garden is mainly laid to lawn with a variety of sitting areas and both wooden and stone benches overlooking the sea. A path leads through the garden to the wood store and the ample parking area. Please note the access to the parking area has a height restriction of 1.9 metres.

Just a ferry ride away is the sailing town of Fowey famous for its yearly Regatta. This is Daphne de Maurier country and the acclaimed du Maurier festival attracts many to its talks, walks, plays and poetry. There are beautiful walks (the Hall Walk is one of the most spectacular in the country) and beaches at Readymoney Cove, Lantic Bay and Polkerris. Nearby is the Eden project, the “Lost Gardens of Heligan” and picturesque fishing villages like Polperro and Looe.

There is under-floor oil-fired central heating throughout; a washing machine is in the store (which also houses the boiler and serves as a drying room with kitchen maid clothes dryers). The cost of electricity, oil and gas is included in the rent and all bed linen is provided. A travel cot and high chair are available if required.

Wireless broadband connection is available for people who bring their own laptops. A landline phone is also available using an honesty box.
