As the name implies The Old Boathouse is located literally at the harbour’s edge and it would be hard to find a holiday home more “waterside” than this. It is a stunning property that is equipped to the highest of standards. It has superb views across Fowey harbour, a deck beside the water and direct water access for using a small boat.  Polruan’s village shops, inns and quay and the ferry to Fowey are all within a few minutes walk.

The master bedroom is beside the water with superb harbour views from a bay window which has been built as a ‘flying bridge’, cantilevered out over the water.  It has a double bed and en-suite bathroom with separate bath, shower, lavatory and washbasin.  There is a second large double bedroom with en-suite shower room with shower, lavatory and washbasin.  This room is located at the rear of the living room and has a double bed and glass doors allowing views of the harbour through the living room. Two sets of carefully designed curtains give total privacy when required.  The third bedroom is a twin room with two single beds and large windows that open onto a small private courtyard.  A separate shower room with shower, steam room, lavatory and washbasin serves this bedroom.

The living room is open plan and measures 28 by 20 feet.  It has superb full length windows providing fantastic harbour views and French doors open onto the generous teak deck measuring 15 x 8 feet, beside the water.  Additional roof lights add to the natural light and make this an exceptional room.  A range of comfortable seating, a wood-burning stove, large dining table and lovely oak kitchen are all provided.  The kitchen is equipped with high quality appliances including an electric induction hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer.  There is a separate “snug” with a small sofa, digital wide screen television and DVD player.  Off the snug is a utility room with a washing machine.

The Old Boathouse has under-floor heating.  The cost of this and all electricity is included in the rent.  All bed linen is supplied. A high speed, high capacity wireless broadband internet connection is freely available for visitors use. 

Steps lead from the balcony down to a path and further granite steps to the water. Visitors can use one of the owner’s frapes for keeping a small boat (up to 15 feet) or a boat hired from Fowey River Boat Hire.  Please note the path does also allow access for the occupants of neighbouring properties to use the granite steps to gain access to the water. However, this shared use is usually limited to August and any loss of privacy is minimal and limited to very short periods of time. 

Unloading is possible within 100 yards of The Old Boathouse.  Parking is available in the car park around 500 yards away.  As this property is accessed by steps, some visitors may find it inconvenient and due to the water frontage it is not recommended for children under eight. 

We regret pets are not allowed at this property.  A returnable £100 damage deposit is required.
