Overlooking the Fowey estuary, Jordan Cottage is in the harbourside village of Bodinnick and only a short stroll from both the ferry to Fowey and the 17th century Old Ferry Inn. Designated free parking for one car is provided 15 yards from the property and there is a good sized garden for sitting out and barbecues.
The Fowey River flows some 80 feet below and there are views of the river and all its work and social activities. The river can be seen from the garden but the ideal viewpoint is the conservatory. This offers a sitting area with a choice of comfortable chairs and a dining table so that visitors can enjoy Cornish views throughout the year.
Bodinnick is a picturesque village and has the great advantage of the ferry which runs regularly and takes car and foot passengers across the estuary to Fowey. The Old Ferry Inn offers bar and restaurant meals and there is a seasonal shop and café at nearby Penmarlam.
The garden provides an excellent opportunity to take advantage of good weather. Garden furniture, a barbeque and fuel are all provided. The garden is surrounded by woodland and is a haven for wildlife including some unusual birds and butterflies. It is also ideal for a dog to run about in.
This spacious single storey building provides very comfortable accommodation for two people. There is one double bedroom and a separate bathroom with a bath, electric shower, wash basin and toilet. The recently refurbished kitchen is well equipped with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge and dish- washer. A washing machine is located in the bathroom. Night storage heaters provide the main heating. The cost of electricity and the supply of bed linen are included in the rent.
There is a snug sitting room with a wood burner, logs and coal are provided. There is a television and a good choice of DVDs. A wide range of books and reading material is a distinctive feature of Jordan Cottage.
Jordan Cottage may be unsuitable for some visitors as it is approached by steep steps. We regret that children are not allowed at this property. A well behaved dog may be allowed by prior arrangement. Please note that a £30 deposit is required for a dog to stay.
